The Challenge
Second Dinner faced an unexpected disruption when geopolitical developments affected its hit card game’s availability in the United States due to the TikTok ban. The studio was forced to accelerate a transition from a third-party publisher to in-house publishing. As part of this shift, Second Dinner needed a new translation and localization QA partner who could rapidly step in and support ongoing live operations. The studio required translation and LQA for monthly game updates, patch notes, and marketing content across 14 languages. Second Dinner reached out to TransPerfect Games in search of a partner who could deliver speed, quality, and reliability.
The Solution
TransPerfect Games quickly assembled a dedicated team of native-level linguists familiar with Second Dinner’s gameplay, terminology, and tone. This ensured linguistic accuracy while preserving the game’s voice across all supported languages, even with unique or complex characters and ability names. TransPerfect Games also delivered localization engineering expertise and workflow guidance to streamline translation requests within Second Dinner’s newly licensed localization platform. Within two months of the initial call, the teams were fully operational, enabling Second Dinner to maintain its release schedule.
The Results
Thanks to TransPerfect Games’ efficiency and high-quality work, Second Dinner’s internal teams were able to focus on self-publishing efforts, in addition to localization logistics. Following the success of the partnership, Second Dinner and TransPerfect Games have continued to expand their collaboration into additional service lines.
