The Challenge
Playwith Games needed a partner who was both familiar with porting games to the Xbox platforms as well as an expert in the XR, Submission, and Microsoft release process. The task was porting and launching 'Seal: WHAT the FUN', an omniverse multiplayer party royale game that received a Very Positive rating on Steam, to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft PC while allowing cross platform play with the Steam version of the title.
The Solution
TransPerfect Games provided Playwith Games a porting solution to optimize their Steam game for Microsoft platforms including the Xbox One and Series X/S consoles. The porting process took approximately four months and was systematically executed according to the initially established milestone plan. Both Playwith Games and TransPerfect worked closely together through regular meetings, daily communication via Slack, and weekly status reports, which resulted in seamless communication and enabled a smooth transition to Xbox platforms.
Since this was Playwith Games’s first time launching a console game, TransPerfect leveraged its extensive experience to both communicate with Microsoft directly on all submission and launch questions, research and execute on the technical parts of submission and marketplace setup, and to successfully support the Xbox Platform releases and post-launch maintenance.
The Result
TransPerfect was able to engage on the project within one week of a signed agreement and through regular communication, collaboration, milestone checkpoints, and owning the submission process end-to-end, was able to help get the game ported
to, and tested on, all target platforms, through Xbox certification, and set up for an on-time release.
Post release, TransPerfect was able to create detailed documentation on the build and submission process, allowing Playwith
Games to take over future updates on Microsoft platforms.
